Official fees for intellectual property fees for intellectual property in Vietnam will be amend and applied from 01 January 2017

According to Circular No. 263/2016/TT-BTC issued on 14 14 November 2016, official fees for Intellectual Property will be amended and officially applied from 01 January 2017. 
Regarding the actions which have been filed with the NOIP before 01 January 2017 but have not yet finalized and have not been paid for official fees, from 01 January 2017, the Applicant must pay the new-applied official fee as stipulated in Circular No. 263/2016/TT-BTC.
Based on the fees listed in the Circular No. 263/2016/TT-BTC, the fees for filing and obtaining registration of Intellectual Property objects will be significantly increased. For examples:  
- Fees for filing and obtaining registration of one trademark in one class which comprising up to 6 goods/services, without claiming priority right, in smooth-going case, is 1.360.000VND (the previous fee was 1.020.000VND);
- Fees for filing and obtaining registration of an industrial design for one variant/embodiment with 7 drawings, without claiming priority right, for smooth-going case, is 2.530.000VND (the previous fee was 1.980.000VND);
- Fees for filing and obtaining registration of a patent for filing and obtaining registration of a patent with 01 independent claim and the specification is not exceeded 06 pages, in smooth-going case, is 2.130.000VND (the previous fee was 1.200.000VND).
- Fee for filing and recordal of a request for renewal/annuity of a registration, instead of paying the renewal/annuity fees, recordal of the renewal/annuity and publication of the renewal/annuity, in accordance with Circular No. 263/2016/TT-BTC, to proceed with renewal/annuity of a registration, the owners have to pay for (i) renewal fee of Certificate of Registration (100.000VND, for patent for each year for each independent claim; for trademark for each 10 years for each class of goods/services; for industrial design for each 5 years for each variant/embodiment), (ii) fees for examination of renewal/annuity request (160.000VND) and (iii) fees for using Certificate of Registration (700.000VND for trademark for each class of goods/services for 10 years; for industrial design for each variant/embodiment for 05 years; for patent for each years of  annuity which are different year by year and to be calculated upon request). Fee for using Certificate of Registration is a totally new mentioned fee which has just been raised in the Circular No. 263/2016/TT-BTC.
